The Silverstone round, or Royal Automobile Club Tourist Trophy to use its official title, marked the official start to the 2009 FIA GT season and the car sponsored by The Event wasted no time in getting in among the action taking 8th place on the grid and finishing the race in a creditable 7th place.
The Event Director Michael Bartholemy said of the deal: “It was a pleasure for us to join forces with DKR Engineering and their drivers Palttala and Menten for the season-starting race in Silverstone last weekend. Thanks to the team’s generosity and the excellent relationship we share, we were able to reach a deal very quickly and it was a great tie-in for us. FIA GT is a globally-recognised championship which reaches millions of households around the world and offers us an excellent platform from which to promote our company’s mission. We have two track days planned for later this year, one in Jerez and one in Valencia, so an automotive collaboration such as what we have enjoyed with DKR Engineering is a logical one for us to pursue and we will certainly be looking to do it again at another FIA GT race this season.”
